Recently, developments and researches on the technologies of mobile internet communications with global coverage using Low-Earth- Orbit (LEO) satellite constellation have become hot topics. The key technologies for communication between multiple ground mobile terminals and LEO satellites include handover, multiple-access, gateway stations and etc. Among these technologies, high-throughput transceiver for time-varying channel, mainly including time-varying Doppler frequency offset and channel attenuation, is the fundamental one. The goal of this project is focusing on the design and implementation of this fundamental baseband transceiver technology. The execution strategy of the project is based on the baseband transceiver technology in FPGA for DVB-S2 standard accumulated from many years research efforts in in our laboratory. First, extension and modification of our baseband DVB-S2 transmitter design/implementation will be done for fulfilling the high-throughput DVB-S2X/ CCSDS specifications. Secondly, the advanced baseband receiver technology for tackling the synchronization of the significant and time-varying carrier frequency offset and automatic gain control issue will be developed and implemented in FPGA.
