Because of their different field of research, they define different measurement methodsto measure the substances in water. Overview the water quality detection, we define the watersubstances in this research as particles, no matter that they are soluble or insoluble substances. Ifthe suspended solids in natural water are too high, not only affecting human water security, itscharacteristics of light shield will bring harm to the aquatic organism. Therefore, both of the naturewater cycle and artificial waste water treatment system are all important factors that affect waterquality. For waste water treatment system, providing the effective information is the important keyto improve processing efficiency.The application of optical measurement has been developed more than three decades inaddition to the advantages of fast and economic. The synchronized measurement multi-componentis more important methods for research and development recently. According more than a decade ofresearch, the research team has found that the most important issue is to remove the interference ofsuspended particles for improving the accuracy and effectiveness measurement of the watercomponent. The removal of suspended particles is utilizing gravity sedimentation in the wastewatertreatment system. Therefore, the concentration and precipitation characteristics of the particles affectother components such as COD and the concentration of heavy metals. This study summarizes theresults of the past studies on the measurement of water substances by absorption spectrum,combined with the scattering spectrum and detecting turbidity. Taking multi-point continuousscanning water samples is to develop the measurement of COD and SS in water for improving waterquality information. In order to provide decision-making requirements for system controls.
