Project Details
Description
In this two-year proposal, we will continuously develop eco-friendly methods to determine nitrogenous disinfection by-products (i.e., haloacetonitriles) and short chain chlorinated paraffins (SCCPs) in various environmental, indoor dust and biota samples from last proposal. Moreover, we will focus on developing solvent-free/less, and microextraction sample pretreatment techniques coupled with GC-MS and LC-MS to analyze four commonly parabens preservatives in various environmental and biota (including human urine) samples. Identification non-target metabolites for these compounds in environmental and biota samples will also be developed and evaluated by UHPLC-HR-MS/MS technique for the first in this proposal. Followings five major tasks are going to be investigated and studied :Task 1. For liquid sample, evaluating ultrasonic-assisted DLLME (UA-DLLME),salt-assisted liquid-liquid extraction (SALLE), vortex-assisted liquid-liquid microextraction (VALLME) and dispersive micro solid-phase extraction (DmSPE);Task 2. For solid, indoor duct and biota samples, evaluating matrix solid-phase dispersion (MSPD) and modified steam-distillation extraction methods; Task 3. Developing quantitative GC-MS (EI or CI), LC-MS with various ionization interfaces for target compounds and MS/MS technique;Task 4. Developing statistic experimental design approaches to optimize and evaluate the parameters of microextraction procedures;Task 5. Evaluating UHPLC-HR-MS/MS technique to identify non-target metabolites of parabens in environmental aqueous samples. Our research will have a significantly contribute to wide spectrum of solvent-free/less and microextraction techniques coupled with hyphenated mass spectrometric for target and non-target compounds in various environmental and biota samples. The results of this research should be highly in response to our environmental protectiontrends, promote conservation and pollution control policies, as well as food safety and public health in Taiwan.
