Artificial Intelligence Using Ring Resonator Array

Project Details

Description

This project will follow the work of the project in MOST “Study of nano-ring resonator array”. We plan to use the ring resonators developed in our laboratory to study the ring resonator array. We will use the ring resonator array to build an artificial intelligence computer using neural networks. Each ring resonator can be regarded as a neuron. In literature, people use square ring resonator array to build the neural network. We will change the topology of the ring resonator array and the dimension of the ring resonators to optimize the characterization of the optical neural network computing. We will fabricate the device on silicon-on-insulator chip. We will apply the chip on the applications that we are investigating. This neural network ring resonator array could provide an ultra-fast computation platform to the applications of big data.
