Project Details
Description
A compound planetary gear drive with a high gear ratio will be developed for medical aids and fitness equipments in the two-year project. Three technologies will be established:(1) Modular system: A cost-efficient modular product family is developed in the project to fulfill the diverse demands of customers. (2) Loaded tooth contact analysis (LTCA): Based on the developed LTCA model for conventional planetary drives, a specific computerized LTCA approach will be established for the compound planetary gear drives. The suitably modified flanks will be designed according to the analysis results of the influences of errors and deformations on the transmission performances and the contact characteristics. The LTCA results will be also compared with a CAE software.(3) Validation test of the prototype: A prototype of the compound planetary gearbox will be designed, manufactured and tested in order to validate the feasibility of the concept. The mass production of the gearbox will be based on the test results.
