Project Details

Description

On the one hand, research students are not motivated to read a lot of English academic papers. To address this issue, the proposed project will integrate pictures and texts into the development of an E-Pictures Book. On the other hand, gender differences play an influential role. Thus, personalization will be incorporate into the proposed E-Pictures Book so that a personalized E-Pictures Book can be produced. Furthermore, an empirical study will be undertaken to investigate the effects of the personalized E-Pictures Book from a gender difference perspective. In addition to traditional statistics, data mining and lag sequential analysis will be employed to analyze data from the empirical study. Results from the aforementioned data analyses will be employed to produce dynamic learning models and design principles. The former can be applied to describe the needs of female and male learners at different stages while the latter can be used to help designers develop personalized E-Pictures Books that can accommodate gender differences.
