A Study on the Joint Inversion of Synchronized Mt and Seismic Tomographic Methods( III )

Project Details


In the study we plan to build the magnetotelluric (MT)-seismic synchronized movable Arrays,as the USArray project in the United States and SinoProbe project in mainland China,forsynchronized MT surveys in selected areas in Taiwan within four years. Within limited budgetscale, we plan to assemble and deploy MT-seismic synchronized array systems which areexpected to have the power of flexible, modulized units that are easy to be repaired andexchanged in low costs. We have developed relative processing schemes and the software fordealing with the recorded raw data in our previous works. In the third year of the project,we plan to conduct synchronized MT surveys in the Chi-Chi dam-Xijou area in the Choushuichiriver area. It is our hope to resolve the detailed structure in the areas for betterunderstanding the tectonic nature of this part of the Central Taiwan.
