Project Details
Description
Currently, science and engineering courses can’t reach the concept of “teach students in accordance with their aptitude.” One of the main reasons is that there is no systemic method to judge the study status and study characteristics of students. Another issue is that the study goals of science and engineering courses should be applying the knowledge to solve real-world problems. However, students are commonly limited to memorizing and applying the knowledge on writing tests. This project proposes using engagement-achievement as the method to categorize students using the flipped classroom as a platform with the cooperation of other mandatory courses. Challenge projects are used to identify students who are more hands-on and practical oriented. With such a framework, this project will study if the emphasizing of thinking and practical application of knowledge will change the student study status and/or characteristics.
