Description
To maximum the achievements of key water resource areas in combining with local business development and land management, the Department of Water Resources, Taoyuan city government commissioned the Project Team using the 1.5-meter resolution orthographical satellite imagery to build a change detection analysis mechanism on a monthly basis in the key water resource areas. In addition to change detection monitoring and analysis, field investigators also conduct regular on-spot check and forward the result reports to the relevant authority unit. The analysis on monitoring results and legal development, farmlands, potential illegal-developing areas and other designated areas were carried out using spatial information technology. The objective is to gather practical actions under the prevention and decrease of illegal land use development. To apply a multi-scale monitoring, the unmanned aerial vehicle sonar is used to carry out the measurement in pond depths, as well as in the estimation of water storage volume in the impounding reservoirs. Satellite imagery monitoring and field investigations were also being carried out in the specific areas.
