龍門山及青藏地區的活動構造與地質災害研究

Project Details

Description

After the 2008 Wenchuan earthquake, under the support from both sides, Taiwanese and continental scientists teamed up to engage in the earthquake-related research of the Longmenshan area. That project started from 2009 and after 3 years of cooperation many important results had been published. Since the tectonic evolution of the Tibetan plateau, and as well as of the Longmenshan fold-and-thrust belt and the western Sichuan Foreland Basin are indeed important research topics and worthy of long-term and continued study. We thus proposed this project to continue the structural research of this area. The time to go through this project is taken into account as three years, from 2015 to 2018. This project includes three main parts: 1) geomorphic analysis, 2) geological dating, 3) fault stress analysis. The aim of the project is to understand the tectonic evolution of the Longmenshan fold-and-thrust belt and the Tibetan plateau.
