Description

Zeolitic imidazolate frameworks (ZIFs), a subclass of metal organic frameworks (MOFs), have emerged as a novel type of crystalline porous material that combines highly desirable properties of both zeolites and MOFs, such as crystallinity, microporosity, high surface area, and exceptional thermal and chemical stability. Emerging functional applications of ZIFs and MOFs in gas separation, catalysis, and sensing have been recently reported.
