Project Details
Description
This first-year project progressing report highlights the major works, including several items such as (1) to promote the research projects related to Aeronautics/Astronautics and Thermal/Fluid (Heat Transfer and Fluid Mechanics) Program in the Department of Engineering and Technologies of National Science and Technology Council (NSTC), (2) to plan and evaluate the results of academic research projects, (3) to publish monthly and/or quarterly newsletters of the Aeronautics/Astronautics and Thermal/Fluid Program (January, February, March Newsletters; June, September, December Newsletters), and (4) to individually hold two promotion press-like conferences and discussion panels for NSTC academic project results from the Aeronautics/Astronautics and Heat transfer/Fluid mechanics) Program. The first conference “2024 Thermal Flow Research Results-Exhibition Press-like Conference” will be held at the National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology (NKUST)-First Campus on November 15, 2024 (Friday) in the form of Poster Presentation. The two-stage reviewing process is applying to select 10 top-score posters from 97 posters in the first-stage. Then the 1st, 2nd, 3rd places of best posters alongside several selected good posters will be selected in the second-stage on the day of conference and they will be awarded by the certificates. In addition to the posters presentation of the research results, two keynote speakers are invited: Professor Lu and Professor Lee who will deliver lectures. In the conference, the Program PI will give an update on recent developments of Aeronautics/Astronautics and Heat Transfer/Fluid Mechanics Program in the Department of Engineering and Technologies of NSTC and host a panel discussion. While viewing the research posters, participants can discuss with poster presenters to engage each other in academic exchanges especially with the keynote speakers and share their insights during the discussion panel. All is expected to contribute to future research planning. The second conference “2024 Aeronautics and Astronautics Research Results-Exhibition Press-like Conference” will be held at the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics, NCKU on December 7, 2024 (Saturday). Similarly, there will be poster presentations and best poster awards events. In particular, the Aeronautics and Astronautics conference in this year invites two Academicians, Prof. Vigor Yang from Georgia Tech, USA and Dr. Yu-Pen Su from National Chung Shan Institute of Science and Technology, Taiwan; both of them are members of Academia Sinica (Taiwan) and National Academy of Engineering (USA) who will be the panel discussion speakers, hosted by the Program PI (Prof. Shenqyang (Steven) Shy). It is expected that Prof. Vigor Yang and Dr. Yu-Pen Su will share their life time experience in academy and engineering as well as their views on the needs in the field of the Aeronautics and Astronautics for the foreseeable future.
