Project Details
Description
Many of the learning activities in higher education are individualistic and self-directed based. In addition, most teaching activities in college are lecture-based. Although cooperative learning has been acknowledged as an efficient approach to establishing positive interdependence among members in a group, studies on the implementation of cooperative learning in higher education remains comparatively sparse than those in K-12. Among others, communication skills, logical reasoning ability, and critical thinking skills have been identified as critical cognitive abilities in nowadays business world. The above mentioned critical cognitive abilities can hardly be acquired through lecture-based instruction, if not impossible.
