Project Details
Description
This two-year-project will focus on developing a planning and analysis model for product family of planetary gear drives. Within two years, a universal loaded tooth contact analysis (LTCA) model and a product family design expert system will be established, so as to integrate the development of diverse planetary gear drives, to accelerate the development time and to reduce costs. In this project, namely the second year project, the main research work includes:(1) Construction of an expert system program: through the "User Interface Design", the universal "Analysis and Design Program Module" developed in the first year and the “Product Family Structure” for the planetary gear drives established in this year will be integrated, and the computer-aided "Planetary Gear Drives Expert System" software will be also completed.(2) Establish the product family for planetary gear drives: through the "product family architecture and database" and the design experience and theoretical analysis results, the "product family design rules" are compiled, and then combined with the established design catalog, the appropriate "modular components and CAD parameterized files" will be completed.(3) Using the developed expert system platform, a planetary gear transmission gearbox will be designed and manufactured. Its efficiency, stiffness, backlash and other transmission performance will be also verified. The research results of this project will help related small and medium enterprises to simplify the internal design process, manage product variety, and also to reduce costs and design thresholds.
