Description
Wang Youpu was one of the important scholars in Classics in Mid-Qing Dynasty. His books were Yiyishuxin. Mengzidufa ,etc. Yiyishuxin was the most important work of Wang about Yijing. He endorsed the “Song School” approach to the Yijing, and particularly treated Confucius’ the Commentaries to the Yijing(《易傳》)as the core of the Yijing. He argued that the Four Saints all agreed upon the interpretation of the Yijing, and that Cheng and Zhu shared the same interpretative system. Wang thought that even though his own interpretation was different from Zhu’s. However, there was no contradiction between their interpretations and the Commentaries to the Yijing, all of them shared the same interpretative tradition.
