In this project, we going to design low complexity hybrid beamforming algorithmsfor mmWave transmission systems with multiple antenna deployment. A hybridprecoding and combing scheme is designed and simulation results show a betterperformance than the existing algorithm. Further improved algorithms such asadaptive or phase tracking fashions will be proposed for the project as thecomplexity of the proposed batch mode is high due to performing the full SVDoperations. Single carrier scenarios are considered in the above developments, therefore, we would like to extend the idea for the application to OFDM-basedtransmit systems. For further investigation, the conditions with interference andfinite samples effect are considered. As the mmWave transmission would failwhen there is blocking effect, this problem should be mainly considered for thedesign of transmission schemes. An AOA estimation task and a form ofhypothesis testing would be required. To assist the derived algorithms forblocking effect, a fast tracking or an adaptation method for the beamformingvectors should be also designed. In addition, we consider multicell scenarios withinterference under considerations. In these systems under consideration, interference is usually not considered and taken as noise. Some reports considerinterference effect, but some received signal models are assumed or only one RFchain is considered in the beamforming designs. In the final part of the project,we are going to mitigate these problems to proposed our own to improve theperformance while these issues are further considered.
