Project Details
Description
The project is proposed for a period of three years to investigate the low-cyclefatigue design of New RC structures. In the first year, the topic is focused on thelow-cycle fatigue of New RC structures subjected to repeated cyclic loading. Thenew S-N curve for the effects on bar diameter and steel strength will bedeveloped. In second year, the low-cycle fatigue due to reversed cyclic loadingeffect will be the main issue, which is different from the previous year as focusingon the repeated loading. The purpose of the year is to study the impact of thenew RC structures subjected to an intermediate earthquake to an elasticresponse on the fatigue behavior. In the third year, the low-cycle fatigue causedby a strong earthquake will be discussed. Parametric analysis on the effects ofMinor’s rule for the different loading cycles, r/h of ribs of deformed bars, steelstrength, and bar diameters will be performed.
