Project Details
Description
This project will study the Tm3Tm'3O8 spinel materials (Tm is 3d transition metal). X-ray and neutron diffraction experiments will be employed to analyze its crystal structure, and varied-temperature magnetic neutron diffraction will study the magnetic structure. Varied-temperature magnetization, hysteresis curve, resistivity, magnetoresistance, dielectric constants, resistivity, Raman spectroscopy, and inelastic neutron scattering experiments are utilized to discover the intrinsic magnetic, electrical, and structural properties. These experiments are also helping to clarify the possible interaction and dynamic behaviors such as the existence of polarons, excitons, or other quasi-particles. This study will also develop the phase diagram of the relevant system and the potential practical application.
