Description

Organic field-effect transistors (OFETs) have attracted intensive attention for potential applications in flexible displays. During the past couple years, our group have developed a facile one-pot [X+1+Y] synthetic routes for preparation of DTT (dithienothiophene), TTA (tetrathienoacene) and PTA (pentathienoacene). A couple of new derivatives based on these poly fused-thiophene ring systems have been developed. For p-type materials, stable semiconductor materials based on benzo[d,d’]thieno [3,2-b;4,5-b’]dithiophene system (BTDT) had been synthesized with mobility up to 0.7 cm2V-1s-1. Soluble BTDT-based material had demonstrated mobility up to 0.6 cm2V-1s-1, via spin coating. Soluble BSTs has shown mobility up to 0.38 cm2V-1s-1, via solution process. For n-type materials, new TTAs had been developed with mobility up to 0.37 cm2V-1s-1.
