Project Details
Description
In Taiwan's hot and humid climate, keeping pork at room-temperature can easily cause food wastes and food safety concerns. Constructing the international cold chain equipment and processes into the traditional pork supply chain may resolve these two problems. Food cold chain is a complex system that consists of multiple stages and procedures. The system usually has both continuous and discrete characteristics. Integrating system dynamics and discrete event simulation methods, SD-DES, can model discrete event system behavior and time-continuous dynamic system behavior in a single model that create a more accurate and comprehensive cold chain logistics system. The research objects of this project include the meat auction market in Taoyuan City, 5 livestock farms and 5 traditional markets in Taoyuan area. The performance of introducing the regional pork cold chain distribution system will be valuated using the SD-DES model.
