Project Details
Description
In the near shore of the northern Taiwan, the Keelung Submarine Volcano exists between the Yehliu Cape and the Keelung island. This submarine volcano reveals a high magnetization character. Beneath this submarine volcano, there were numerous earthquakes occurring at depth. This submarine also has a complete outline and a clear crater. Its existence has been seldom reported and is often ignored. However, the Keelung Submarine Volcano is very close to the coast of the northern Taiwan, thus its potential eruption may seriously damage northern Taiwan. Its menace could be even bigger than the Tatun Volcano. Thus, this project is aimed to observe the Keelung Submarine Volcano repeatedly.
