Description
In order to promote the effective exchange of background information between students and teachers, this research proposes a storage architecture that protects users’ private data. Users’ data are classified according to sensitivity, for queriers are allowed to query only non- sensitive data. For the purpose of implementing the users’ control over their own data, blockchain is used to record the users’ willingness to share their sensitive data. In addition, it can also increase the trust in data privacy in decentralized environment with public rules and trust mechanism. The well-known company Netflix once held a competition(Netflix Prize) to estimate user movie ratings based on public data. The information that can identify users had been erased already. However, a year later, two researchers from the University of Texas at Austin correlated those data with public data records on the IMDB(Internet Movie Database) website to identify anonymous users.
