The "International Workshop on Impact and Sustainability Research" and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Impact Week, hosted by the College of Management, Department of Business Administration, and the Asia Center for Impact Measurement and Management at National Central University, took place from December 10, 2023, over eight days. The event featured representatives from six major international organizations: the Asian Venture Philanthropy Network (AVPN), Social Value International (SVI), Capitals Coalition, The Global Steering Group for Impact Investment, Future Earth, and Social Value Japan. It also welcomed 23 international participants from eight countries, including Vietnam, Bangladesh, Malaysia, the Philippines, Indonesia, India, Thailand, and Japan, attracting over 300 registrants from the domestic industry, government, and academic sectors.This international training event comprised "Research Workshops" and "International Industry-Academia Forums and Workshops," introducing three Taiwan-developed methodology by the team from National Central University: impact measurement, impact management, and sustainable leadership. The event featured six international speakers from institutions like the National University of Singapore, Sungkyunkwan University, AVPN, SVI, and eight domestic speakers. The "Research Workshop" covered topics such as "Fundamentals of Impact Measurement and Management," "Impact Measurement Methods for Social Interventions," "Creating a Common Language through Impact Assessment," "Latest Trends in Impact Investing in Japan," and "How Impact Investors Move from Measuring to Managing for Impact." The "International Industry-Academia Forum and Workshop" facilitated exchanges and networking opportunities between international participants and professors from the College of Management at National Central University, discussing possibilities for future teaching and research collaborations. It also featured special lectures on "Exploring the Role of Artificial Intelligence in Sustainable Development: Challenges, Opportunities, and Innovations" and panel discussions on "Leadership Strategies for Sustainable Change," "Technological Innovation and Sustainable Development," and "Social Enterprises and Impact Management."As a result of the "International Workshop on Impact and Sustainability Research" and the SDG Impact Week, a Sustainability Leadership and Impact Management Consortium research platform was established, involving 11 international research institutions and universities, including the Department of Science and Technology of the Philippines, the University of the Philippines, Kyushu University in Japan, Universiti Sains Malaysia, the University of Malaya, and Kasetsart University in Thailand, with plans to sign 13 letters of intent or MoUs this year. This platform has established four international cooperation mechanisms (Advisory Committee, Teaching Committee, Training and Consulting Committee, Academic Research Group), where the Advisory Committee will be responsible for strategic and mechanism planning, the Teaching Committee for the design of materials and courses, the Training and Consulting Committee for industry-academia cooperation and technical training, and the Academic Research Group will collaborate with the major international organization SVI, planning to co-publish more than six papers and hold four online seminars this year, continuing international research collaboration related to impact and sustainable development.
