Description
We used the newly developed tsunami reverse-tracking method (TRTM) to reconstruct the tsunami sources, and the high-speed Impact Intensity Analysis (IIA) method to explore the tsunami sources from the study sites. Among the results, the location of the submarine landslide of the 1867 Keelung Tsunami Event agreed well with the field measurement. This project will further analyze the landslide generated tsunami in the 1867 Keelung event. A 3D landslide-type tsunami model will be developed. The model solves three-dimensional Navier-Stokes equations with volume of fluid (VOF) method for tracking the water and landslide surfaces. The dynamics and landslide movements will be described by the Bingham Two-Viscosity Model. This model will be used to understand the relationships between the tsunami wav-height, size of the landslide, and the local water depth. At the end, the scenario of the 1867 Keelung tsunami event will be reconstructed.
