「化性起偽」如何可能?──荀子「心性論」及其對我國當前品德教育 的啟示

Project Details

Description

The aim of this research proposal is to explore the implications of Xunzi's theory of heart-mind (xin) and nature (xing) for Taiwan's current character and moral education. The differences of the understandings and interpretations of Xunzi’s notions of heart-mind (xin) and nature (xing) among scholars in the studies of Xunzi result from the complexity of Xunzi’s theory of heart-mind and nature. However, this has not attracted significant attentions from the scholars in the fields of philosophy of education and history of education. This research submits that, if we revisit Xunzi’s theory of heart-mind and nature carefully and interpret it with reference to those relevant investigations into Xunzi’s philosophy and modern ducational discourses, we may unpack some insights for Taiwan's current character and moral education. In this regard, this proposal will firstly expound Xunzi’s theory of heart-mind and nature to rethink and deepen the studies on Xunzi’s theory of heart-mind and nature in the areas of philosophy of education and educational history and also to discuss its implications for the character and moral education conducted in Taiwan.
