利用重磁與地震資料探討台灣中部山區之地下構造(I)

Project Details

Description

Reducing non-uniqueness and improving the reliability of geophysical inversion must be conducted through joint inversion of different geophysical data. We use the combined inversion of seismic travel time and Bouguer gravity data, as well as the analysis of magnetic susceptibility data, to explore the morphology of subsurface structures in the mountainous area of central Taiwan. From the results of previous studies using joint inversion, it can be seen that adding Bouguer gravity data for joint inversion is better than using seismic travel-time only for inversion. Adding gravity and magnetic data to control the shallow structure helps to get a better analysis of the subsurface structure. The research area is mainly the mountainous area in central Taiwan. Because of itsremoteness and high mountains, it is not easy to conduct various surveys and researches, so the geophysical data is relatively lacking. We expect to add a high-resolution seismic observation station, and measure the additional gravity and magnetic data in the mountainous area of central Taiwan. In addition to discussing the seismic activity, and combining the latest gravity data to explore the subsurface tectonic model, it provides a further discussion on the thickening behavior of the crust in central Taiwan and the tectonic evolution of the southern section of the Hsuehshan Range.
