Description
The objective of this proposal is to utilize the turbulence resolving technique to investigate the characteristics of afternoon thunderstorm system over the complex terrain and to examine it subsequent impact on land surface hydrologic processes in Taiwan. The afternoon thunderstorm is typically formed during the summer season and sometimes brings significant amounts of precipitation and associated with flash floods. Due to its fine temporal and spatial scales, the mesoscale meteorological model typically fails to capture the formation of the localized storm systems. In this research, we proposed to investigate the development of the afternoon storm activity through the turbulence resolving technique.
