Description
Long waits undermine patients’ evaluations of the quality of hospital services, triggering abandonment behaviors. It has been found that offering patients with various stimuli by filling the waiting time can distract their attention from the passage of time. However, health care researchers and practitioners have not perfected mechanisms to respond to long wait issues. By adopting resource allocation theory, flow theory, and human computer interaction theories, we develop a Clinical Decision Support System (CDSS) to effectively use patient waiting time to help physicians make an accurate diagnosis of patients.
