Established in 2014, College of Health Sciences and Technology (CHST) is the premiere interdisciplinary biomedical research and academic institution in Taiwan. The CHST is an interdisciplinary college offering a diversified academic programs ranging from biomedical related basic sciences to applied technologies. CHST has integrated the departments related to the biomedical fields at NCU and established a new department. It now consists of two departments (including four graduate programs), one graduate institute, and two special Ph.D. programs. Three main goals of CHST are: 1. To develop excellent research capacity with interdisciplinary teams for scientific discoveries. 2. To forge new partnership with healthcare, biotech and electronic/informatic industries, in order to explore new approaches to health care and new opportunities for traditional industries. 3. To train young talents in a team-oriented, interdisciplinary environment that emphasizes both the basic scientific research and its connection to applied technologies. CHST has started new research and development projects in partnership with industry leaders. The goals of these new academy-industry collaborations are two folds: 1. To foster biotechnology industry in Taiwan, and to increase their competitiveness in the global market. 2. To improve the job perspective for our students.
