本校地球科學學院為建立與交通部中央氣象局等產官學研合作平台、延攬優秀專業人才、開發前瞻技術、引進外部資源及設置關鍵實驗室，並提供合作單位營運諮詢顧問與專業服務，以厚實本院教學、研究、服務與產學合作績效，於104年10月6日成立地球科學前瞻應用研究中心。
本中心依業務需求設置有前瞻研究組、數據資料組、產學合作組、教學服務組及行政支援組
